Marcio Barbosa made his UFC debut count in a big way!
The Brazilian featherweight needed just 80 seconds to stop Dennis Buzukja on Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 273, delivering a clean one-punch knockout in their featured prelim bout at Canada Life Centre.
Barbosa (18-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) stayed composed early and waited for the first real opening. When it came, he stepped in and landed a sharp left hook straight on the chin.
Barbosa looked comfortable from the start. He did not rush, but once the exchange began, he committed fully.
One clean connection was enough. Buzukja (12-6 MMA, 1-4 UFC) went down immediately, ending the fight before it had time to settle. The crowd barely had a chance to react before it was over.
The finish adds to an already impressive record. Barbosa now has stoppages in 17 of his 18 career wins.

For a debut performance, it was the kind that quickly gets attention in a competitive featherweight division.
Barbosa made his intentions clear as soon as the fight ended; he told Paul Felder:
“I have visualized all of this,”
“I’m going to be the champion of this division. With God behind me, wherever this hand goes, nobody is going to get up from it.”
