Sean Strickland has never been one to hold back, and this time was no different. During an open workout, he shared some insights about how he would react if push comes to shove with Khamzat Chimaev during fight week.
“What I’m going to do is pull my gun and shoot him”
The comment came after Chimaev suggested Strickland might “run away” if approached by him and his team. Strickland pushed back on that idea and made it clear he would not back down.
He also explained how he would rather handle things if it stayed respectful.
“I’ll tell you what, that being said, if Chimaev were to come up to me as a gentleman and say, ‘Hey, you know what? You said some things. You insulted my wife. I actually love sheep, it’s crazy,’ then I would be like, ‘I love goats, dude. Goat tastes good.”
Strickland went on to describe what he sees as a proper, one-on-one approach.
“But anyway, if you were to come up to me like a man, say, ‘You know what, Sean. You said some things about my dad (Ramzan) Kadyrov.’ I’m like, ‘Well, you know what, dude? You whored yourself out, not me.”
“But if you come up to me with three fcking goat-fcker Chechens who don’t speak English, I’m going to pull my gun, and I’m going to shoot each and every one of you.”
No Respect When It’s Over: “We Die Enemies”
This rivalry has been building for a long time. And this one goes beyond typical trash talk. The tension comes from years of personal shots and exchanges outside the cage.
Strickland believes this one will not go away. He said during an earlier UFC 328 media scrum:
“Whoever wins is going to have bragging rights, and whoever doesn’t has to eat shit until they die,”
He compared it to past fights where he showed respect afterward.
“That is the worst thing about this fight. I fight Fluffy and he beats me — I raise his hand, I say, ‘Fluffy, you beat me, good job.’ Dricus beat me, I raised his hand and said, ‘You beat me.’”
Then he made his stance clear.
“But, I think me and cum shot? We die enemies.”
Security Tightens as Fight Week Nears
Before leaving the media session, Strickland added one more comment that raised eyebrows.
“I’ll be strapped in New Jersey, too, dog. You don’t even worry about that.”
With the fight set for May 9 in Newark, tension continues to build. Both camps have a history of confrontations outside the cage, which only adds to the concern.
Dana White has already said security will be increased for fight week. The focus is on keeping things under control until both fighters step inside the Octagon.
What do you think? Will the two really be enemies till death after their match? Or will they just hug it out like most fighters usually do?
