Beneil Dariush Breaks Silence after UFC Perth Knockout

Beneil Dariush has spoken publicly following his latest setback inside the Octagon.

The veteran lightweight suffered a knockout loss to Quillan Salkilld in the co-main event at UFC Perth. It marked another tough result in a difficult streak. Dariush has now lost four of his last five fights, with each of those defeats coming by knockout.

The result sparked immediate reactions from fans. Many are questioning whether the 36-year-old should continue competing or consider a transition to grappling competition.

Dariush says he is healthy

Dariush addressed the situation in a short message on Instagram. He made it clear that his condition is not a concern after the stoppage.

He also shared his immediate plans following the fight.

“I’ll be taking some time off and heading over to Sydney tomorrow for the week. God bless.”

There has been no direct statement about retirement. His fighting future remains open for now.

Salkilld Jumps in the Rankings

On the other side, Salkilld continues to build momentum. The rising lightweight improved to 12-1 and added another bonus to his record with the finish.

Dariush is expected to fall out of the lightweight rankings when the official update is released. Salkilld could move into that spot as he pushes toward contention.

Do you think it is time for Beneil to hang up the gloves?
