Dana White Fears BUG INVASION Could Ruin UFC Freedom 250 at the White House!

The UFC is preparing for one of the most memorable events in its history. But according to UFC CEO Dana White, one unexpected issue could create serious problems on fight night at the White House: bugs.

Dana White reacts to White House “gnat situation”

On a sit-down with the Boardroom podcast, Dana White explained that on a visit to the Rose Garden at the White House, he was shocked by the number of bugs:

“The amount of gnats that were flying around. I’m like, ‘Holy s***.’ As soon as I got on the plane, I called my head of production and said, ‘Yeah, let me tell you about the gnat situation tonight.’”

White explained that insects gathering around the massive lighting setup could become a real issue during the outdoor event.

“So when you’re a fighter, think about that lighting grid, the amount of power in the lights… moths, gnats, and God knows what else.”

The longtime UFC boss admitted outdoor events have always created headaches for production crews. He said the company is already looking into solutions before UFC Freedom 250 takes place on the White House lawn.

“That’s why I don’t like fighting outside. Ever.”

As of yet, it is unclear how Dana White intends to solve the bug issue. While gnats in Washington DC are harmless to humans, it is not hard to imagine that insects of every kind will be swarming towards the bright lights at the White House lawn on late spring night. This could cause lighting issues, or even mess with the audience experience.

UFC Freedom 250 continues to generate attention

The event is intended to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, along with President Trump’s 80th birthday. The card is scheduled to feature several blockbuster matchups, including Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje and Alex Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane.

Trump has reportedly envisioned a crowd of roughly 5,000 spectators on the White House grounds, with additional viewing areas nearby for fans. Concept art for the event also showed a large arch positioned above the Octagon.

Recently, Former NBA player Michael Beasley leaked the setup on his Kick Stream.

The unusual setting has already sparked reactions throughout the MMA world.

Even UFC commentator Joe Rogan recently questioned the idea of hosting fights at the White House during ongoing international tensions, although he admitted he was still excited for the spectacle.

Meanwhile, White appears focused on solving every logistical problem possible before fight night arrives, including one that most fans probably never expected: surviving the bugs.

Let’s imagine Ilia Topuria is about to KO Justin Gaethje, and Herb Dean (or whichever referee) has to stop the fight in order to clear the bugs from the Octagon. I hope Uncle Dana has a solution.
