Salahdine Parnasse wasted little time introducing himself to a wider audience on Saturday night, stopping Kenny Cross in the opening round during the “Rousey vs. Carano” main card at Intuit Dome.
The highly regarded French standout scored the finish at the 4:18 mark of Round 1 after overwhelming Cross with pressure, sharp combinations, and punishing body work.
Parnasse Controls Fight From The Opening Bell
Parnasse entered the bout carrying major hype from his success overseas, and he immediately showed why many hardcore MMA fans rate him among the best fighters outside the UFC.
The former two-division KSW champion controlled the action early both on the feet and on the mat. Cross struggled to deal with Parnasse’s speed and physicality during the opening exchanges.
At one point, Cross found himself trapped in a dangerous position on the ground before battling back to his feet. The recovery did not last long. Parnasse quickly swarmed him with heavy combinations and forced him backward toward the cage.

Brutal Body Shot Ends The Fight
The finish came after Parnasse ripped a clean punch to the body that folded Cross along the fence. The referee stepped in moments later as Cross dropped to the canvas in pain.
The victory pushed Parnasse to 23-2 as a professional and added another finish to an already impressive résumé. Fifteen of his 23 career wins have now come inside the distance.
Cross entered the event with strong momentum of his own after winning 11 of his previous 12 fights. The American prospect had spent years hovering near a UFC opportunity, but Parnasse proved to be a massive step up in competition.
MMA Fans Finally Get A Look At Parnasse
