Conor McGregor is not just preparing for just a one-off comeback fight. According to his longtime manager, Audie Attar, the former two-division UFC champion plans to stay active after fighting this summer.

McGregor is confirmed to face Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11, Las Vegas. The matchup marks McGregor’s first UFC appearance for so many years being inactive in the organization, and according to his team, they believe that it will be a much busier schedule for them afterwards.

McGregor’s Team Eyes Active Schedule

Speaking with MMA Junkie, Attar explained that McGregor wants to fight consistently after years of inactivity caused by injuries and delays.

“I could tell you he’s looking to stay active.”

“I could tell you that we had planned for a ‘season’ during the COVID period, and that never got going, unfortunately.”

Attar said this comeback is different from previous attempts. The goal now is to build momentum and keep McGregor competing regularly.

“So this is the new season, and he’s definitely looking to stay active,”

“We’re definitely looking forward to not only this fight, Max Holloway, July 11, and then that next fight, and we’re not gonna wait a year, that’s for sure.”

Holloway Fight Carries Major Stakes

The matchup with Blessed gives McGregor a chance to reintroduce himself in one of the UFC’s biggest events of the year. Meanwhile, Holloway serves as one of the most respected fighters in the sport, known for his pace, durability, and striking volume.

For McGregor, the fight is about more than a comeback headline. An upset win could quickly put him back in title contention and open the door for the active schedule his camp has been discussing.

Only Two UFC Fights Left On Contract

McGregor’s future remains one of the biggest talking points in the MMA world. The Irish superstar reportedly has just two fights remaining on his current UFC contract, which fueled many speculations about what comes next for him.

Over the past year, McGregor has repeatedly mentioned an interest in bare-knuckle boxing and crossover fights against major influencer names. He publicly discussed the possible matchups involving the Paul brothers: Jake Paul, Logan Paul, and KSI.

Attar did not reveal any long-term plans beyond UFC 329. Instead, he made it clear that Holloway remains the immediate focus.

“And then we’ll see. We’ll see kinda what happens from there.”

“I don’t think we’re looking too far ahead of things. We’re just taking it one step at a time, as we should because Max Holloway is a formidable opponent, and we gotta go and handle business come July 11.”
