One of the most decorated careers in mixed martial arts is nearing its final chapter. PFL featherweight champion Cris Cyborg will make her last walk to the cage on Aug. 22, 2026, when she headlines PFL Tampa against former UFC title challenger Ketlen Vieira at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.
Cyborg Looks to End Historic Career on Top
Cyborg enters the bout carrying significant momentum. The Brazilian veteran has won nine straight fights and most recently captured the vacant PFL featherweight title with a submission victory over Sara Collins.
The championship run added another accomplishment to a résumé that already places her among the sport’s all-time greats. Before joining the PFL title picture, Cyborg earned a unanimous decision win over Larissa Pacheco and became the first fighter in MMA history to hold world titles in five major promotions.
While continuing to dominate inside the cage, Cyborg has also pursued a successful boxing career. She remains unbeaten as a professional boxer with a 7-0 record and five victories by stoppage.
Vieira Gets New Opportunity After UFC Exit
Cyborg’s next fight will be versus Ketlen Vieira, who recently parted ways with the UFC despite leaving the promotion on a victory.
Vieira’s final appearance in the Octagon saw her defeat rising contender Jacqueline Cavalcanti, ending her UFC tenure on a positive note. Over the last several years, the Brazilian contender has delivered notable wins against former champions Holly Holm and Miesha Tate.
Her losses during that stretch came against some of the division’s toughest names, including Kayla Harrison, Raquel Pennington, and Norma Dumont.
The matchup will also mark only the second featherweight appearance of Vieira’s professional MMA career, adding another layer of intrigue as she steps into a championship main event against one of the sport’s most accomplished fighters.
