Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier was reportedly arrested in Georgia on Father’s Day on a misdemeanor public intoxication charge, according to TMZ.
Poirier was released after spending a few hours in custody and appeared in court the following day. He could face a fine and possible jail time if convicted.
Following the incident, Poirier posted a brief message on Instagram.
“Love you all,”
“Working on myself.”

The 37-year-old retired from MMA after back-to-back losses to Islam Makhachev and Max Holloway, ending his career with a 30-10 record and one no contest.
