Real American Freestyle has added one of wrestling’s most decorated names to its roster.
Jordan Burroughs is bringing Olympic gold and six world titles to Real American Freestyle. The wrestling icon has been booked for his RAF debut at RAF 12 on Aug. 22 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland.
The promotion has not announced his opponent yet.
Burroughs makes bold demands!
The wrestling legend did not wait long to make noise after the signing became official.
“Give me Islam and Arman in the same night!”
Burroughs now enters RAF as one of the most high-profile additions in the promotion’s young history, with expectations already building ahead of his first appearance.
One of the most decorated wrestlers ever
Jordan Burroughs arrives in RAF as one of the most accomplished wrestlers ever to step onto a mat. The American icon owns an Olympic gold medal and six World Championship titles, giving him a combined seven world titles, the most of any U.S. freestyle wrestler in history.
At the height of his dominance, Burroughs put together an incredible streak of 69 consecutive victories at the senior international level.
Long before wrestling stars regularly broke into the mainstream, Burroughs was already capturing public attention. After earning his place on Team USA for the 2012 London Olympics, he boldly changed his social media handle to “@alliseeisgold.”
The prediction proved prophetic. Burroughs stormed through the tournament undefeated and claimed Olympic gold at just 23 years old. The phrase remained his personal mantra and later became the name of the wrestling academy he now operates.
RAF is heating up for the summer!
The signing adds even more momentum to RAF’s packed summer schedule. The promotion kicks off RAF10 this weekend at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, headlined by Khamzat Chimaev’s promotional debut against Dillon Danis.
RAF then heads overseas for its first international event in Georgia on July 11 before returning stateside for RAF11 in Milwaukee, where Arman Tsarukyan faces Colby Covington in one of the year’s most anticipated wrestling matchups.
RAF12 will close out the summer on Aug. 22 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. With Burroughs already confirmed for the card, the promotion has secured one of the biggest names in wrestling history for its season finale.
