Dana White has heard enough of the questions.
The UFC CEO made it clear that nothing is stopping UFC Freedom 250 from taking place Sunday night on the White House South Lawn, even as concerns continue to swirl around the historic event.
From legal challenges to weather forecasts predicting unfavorable conditions, White insisted the promotion remains fully committed to delivering one of the most ambitious cards in company history.
White dismisses concerns surrounding historic event
The road to Washington, D.C. has been anything but smooth for the UFC.
Fans were stunned when the promotion announced plans to stage an event on the grounds of the White House. Since then, the organization has dealt with a series of complications while preparing for fight night.
The production itself has become a massive undertaking. UFC officials have overseen the construction of the giant “Claw” structure surrounding the Octagon while also navigating federal lawsuits tied to the event.
Add the threat of bad weather into the mix, and speculation has grown over whether the card could face delays or even cancellation.
White isn’t entertaining any of it.
Speaking during Friday night’s UFC White House pre-fight press conference, he doubled down on the promotion’s plans.
“Listen, the show goes on on Sunday. No matter what happens we’re going,”
“I don’t care if it rains, snows, whatever happens. We have a fight on Sunday.”
UFC CEO sends message to doubters
White’s frustration was evident as he addressed the constant questions surrounding the event’s future.
After months of planning and millions invested into bringing the spectacle to life, he made it known that the UFC has no intention of backing down at the final hurdle.
“I’m sick and tired of hearing about the weather now and all the other bullsh-t surrounding this event,”
“We are fighting on Sunday night on the White House lawn. No matter what!”
