Tommy Fury relied on skill and movement to overcome a massive size disadvantage, earning a majority decision victory over strongman Eddie Hall in Saturday’s heavyweight exhibition main event in Manchester, England.

Despite giving up more than 100 pounds to Hall, Fury’s experience inside the ring proved to be the difference over six rounds.

Fury sticks to the game plan

Fury avoided prolonged exchanges with the former World’s Strongest Man, circling away from Hall’s dangerous right hand while picking his spots with jabs and body shots.

Hall had moments of success and landed a few solid punches of his own. However, Fury increased his output as the fight progressed, doing enough to stay ahead on the scorecards.

Guest judges Tony Bellew and Derek Chisora scored the bout 59-56 and 58-56 for Fury, while Chase DeMoor had it even at 57-57.

DeMoor confronts Fury after the fight

The post-fight respect between Fury and Hall was briefly overshadowed when Misfits Boxing heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor entered the ring for a faceoff with Fury.

Fury dismissed talk of an immediate showdown, insisting that DeMoor first settle unfinished business with his brother, Roman Fury. The exchange quickly escalated into a scuffle involving DeMoor and Roman.

Fury’s next move remains uncertain, but a fight with DeMoor appears off the table unless Roman Fury gets his chance first.
