Sean O’Malley backed up his fight-week prediction with a spectacular second-round knockout of Aiemann Zahabi at UFC Freedom 250 on Sunday night in Washington, D.C.
After a measured opening round, O’Malley found his moment late in the second. A straight left hand dropped Zahabi, and moments later, a perfectly placed right hand finished the job.
The former UFC bantamweight champion saluted the crowd after the victory, which improved his record to 20-3 and extended his winning streak to two fights.
For Zahabi, the loss snapped a seven-fight winning streak that included notable victories over Marlon Vera and Jose Aldo.
Postfight callouts
After his KO win, “Sugar” called out Petr Yan. He suggested he would be willing to face him regardless if he wins or loses vs Merab in their anticipated rematch.
