Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry finally stood across from each other ahead of their UFC 330 welterweight title fight.

The two contenders met Tuesday in Philadelphia, posing in front of the famous Rocky statue as anticipation builds for their championship clash on Aug. 15.

The faceoff also gave fans a closer look at the physical differences between the fighters.

Garry Brings a Five-Inch Height Advantage

According to the UFC’s official measurements, Garry stands five inches taller than Makhachev.

That size difference could become an important factor when the cage door closes. Makhachev is moving up from lightweight for his first defense of the welterweight championship, while Garry has spent his recent run competing at 170 pounds.

The Irish contender will look to use his height and reach to keep the former lightweight champion at range.

Makhachev, meanwhile, will have to close the distance against one of the division’s taller fighters.

Makhachev Begins Welterweight Title Reign

Makhachev enters UFC 330 after capturing the welterweight belt with a victory over Jack Della Maddalena.

The win capped a dominant run at lightweight and gave Makhachev the opportunity to chase championship success in a second division.

Garry arrives with plenty of momentum of his own. The former welterweight title challenger has picked up consecutive victories over Carlos Prates and Belal Muhammad.

Now, those winning streaks collide with the welterweight title on the line.
