The salaries for MVP MMA’s first event on Netflix have officially been revealed, and Ronda Rousey walked away with the biggest payday of the night.
The California State Athletic Commission disclosed the official purses for Saturday’s 11-fight card, which featured Rousey’s long-awaited MMA return against Gina Carano in the main event.
Several major names earned substantial guarantees, including Francis Ngannou, Nate Diaz and Mike Perry.
Rousey Lands Biggest Purse Of The Event
Rousey received a reported $2.2 million purse for her first MMA fight in 10 years. The former UFC champion returned to competition for the first time since her loss to Amanda Nunes in 2016.
Carano also secured a seven-figure payday. She earned $1.05 million for her first appearance in the cage since 2009, when she last fought against Cris Cyborg.
Although Carano crossed the million-dollar mark, Ngannou still ranked ahead of her financially on the card.
The former UFC heavyweight champion took home $1.5 million for his bout against Philipe Lins, who earned $100,000.
Diaz, Perry Among Other Top Earners
Diaz pocketed $500,000 for his return to MMA after spending recent years competing in boxing. The Stockton veteran had explored a possible UFC comeback before ultimately signing with MVP MMA.
Perry earned $400,000 after entering the event as one of the biggest stars in bare-knuckle fighting through his success in BKFC.
Unlike UFC events, fighters on the card were reportedly paid flat purses with no additional win bonus attached to their contracts.
