Undefeated light heavyweight prospect Iwo Baraniewski is looking to keep his momentum rolling this weekend, but he is not interested in turning the fight into a reckless exchange.

Baraniewski faces heavy-handed striker Junior Tafa on the main card of UFC Fight Night 278 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The Polish standout enters the matchup after scoring three straight first-round finishes across his DWCS appearance and first two UFC fights.

Baraniewski Respects Tafa’s Power

Despite his recent knockout success, Baraniewski expects a dangerous challenge against Tafa, who is coming off a first-round finish of Kevin Christian in Perth. He told MMA Junkie on media day about his plans against Tafa in their upcoming fight.

“He’s a dangerous striker. He has heavy hands, and I must be careful in the first part of the fight,”

The 27-year-old believes patience could be the key to extending his unbeaten run.

More Than Just a Striking Battle

While many fans are expecting a firefight, Baraniewski suggested he may take a different route if the opportunity presents itself.

“Maybe I show you my grappling skills. Maybe we will do the brawl, but I will be careful about my head.”

Baraniewski has finished every UFC appearance in less than two minutes and now looks to add another statement win against one of the division’s toughest punchers.

Looking to Capitalize on Being a Favourite

Undefeated Polish powerhouse Iwo Baraniewski is a heavy -350 favorite against Australian striker Junior Tafa, who is a +275 underdog on most UFC betting apps.

Baraniewski (8-0) has finished his first two UFC fights in under two minutes, and while Tafa (7-5) possesses lethal kickboxing power, his historical struggles against wrestling give the Pole a massive advantage. If Baraniewski utilizes his judo and BJJ credentials to take the fight to the mat, he should secure another quick finish.
