Conor McGregor believes fans will see a stronger version of him when he steps back into the Octagon at UFC 329.
After a prolonged absence from competition, former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor is finally set to return on July 11. He will renew his rivalry with Max Holloway in a rematch at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. While McGregor has remained unusually quiet throughout fight week, he insists his training camp has him fully prepared for the challenge ahead.
McGregor feels better than ever before return
After spending nearly four years away from competition, McGregor told The Mac Life that his confidence comes from the work he has put in behind the scenes.
“I feel absolutely amazing, stellar,”
McGregor has been out of action since breaking his leg in the trilogy clash with Dustin Poirier in 2021. His most recent UFC victory came in 2020, when he needed just 40 seconds to stop Donald Cerrone in a welterweight showdown.
Confident in his power at 170 pounds
McGregor has built most of his UFC career competing at featherweight and lightweight, but he expects his move to 170 pounds to make an immediate difference against Holloway.
“There’s a different thud when you fight against me,”
“I fought Max once many years ago. I look forward to my improvements on it.”
McGregor and Holloway first shared the Octagon in 2013, when the Irishman claimed a unanimous decision victory during the early stages of both men’s UFC careers. This time, however, Holloway enters the rematch as the betting favorite, largely because of McGregor’s extended absence from competition.
