Gable Steveson made a memorable UFC debut on Saturday night, knocking out Elisha Ellison in the opening round of their bout at UFC 329 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The Olympic gold medalist came out aggressively from the opening bell, targeting Ellison with front kicks to the body and heavy punches. Steveson briefly looked for a takedown early, but the fight quickly turned into a fast-paced striking exchange.
Early Pressure Leads to Finish
Following a short stoppage due to a low blow, Steveson continued to push the pace and landed several powerful shots. His consistent body attacks helped create openings, allowing him to unload a barrage of punches that dropped Ellison and ended the fight.
Despite being one of the most accomplished wrestlers to enter the UFC, Steveson earned the victory without relying on his grappling, instead showcasing the striking skills he has developed ahead of his highly anticipated debut.
