Sedriques Dumas’ time with the UFC has officially come to an end.
The middleweight fighter has been removed from the promotion’s active roster, signaling either a release from his contract or a decision by the UFC not to renew his deal. MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz first reported the development.
Promising Start Never Turned Into Consistent Success
Dumas arrived in the UFC with considerable momentum behind him. After compiling an undefeated record on the regional circuit, he earned a UFC contract with a 47-second submission victory on Season 6 of Dana White’s Contender Series.
His Octagon debut, however, proved difficult as he suffered a submission loss to Josh Fremd.
Dumas responded with back-to-back unanimous decision victories and appeared to be building momentum. That progress was halted when Nursulton Ruziboev stopped him in the opening round of their fight.
“The Reaper” later picked up another win against Denis Tiuliulin, but his UFC tenure ended on a rough stretch. He dropped three consecutive bouts, with a No Contest also appearing during that span.
By the end of his run, Dumas held a 3-5-1 record inside the Octagon.
Legal Issues Overshadowed UFC Career
While Dumas struggled to find consistency in competition, he also faced repeated legal troubles away from the sport.
The most significant incident came in April 2025 when he was arrested on several charges, including felony home invasion robbery with a firearm, misdemeanor battery, and felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
The case directly impacted his fighting career. Dumas was removed from UFC 311 after a Florida court ordered him to wear an ankle monitor that restricted his travel to a 100-mile radius.
According to reports, the 30-year-old has been arrested 15 times since 2014.
His departure closes a UFC chapter that featured flashes of potential inside the cage but was frequently overshadowed by controversy outside of it.
