Conor McGregor has offered fans a glimpse into his recovery following the leg injury that ended his UFC 329 comeback fight against Max Holloway.

The former two-division UFC champion appeared in a new video posted on his 38th birthday, marking his first direct on-camera message since suffering the setback earlier this month.

McGregor Promises Return

In the brief clip, McGregor shared a moment with his wife before addressing supporters and reaffirming his intention to compete again.

“We’ll be back.”

The video follows previous social media posts in which McGregor insisted his fighting career was not over despite the latest injury.

Injury Questions Remain

Although McGregor appeared upbeat during the brief interaction, the UFC has not revealed the full extent of his injury. It also remains uncertain whether he will require surgery. UFC CEO Dana White has suggested he believes the injury could involve a torn ACL.

Sports medicine physician Dr. Brian Sutterer also shared his assessment on X after analyzing the available footage from McGregor’s recovery.

“Lack of a brace (assuming he didn’t just take it off for the video) means no high grade collateral ligament injury (MCL/LCL).”

“Means nothing about ACL and meniscus. Range of motion being at least 90 [degrees] of flexion and looking relatively comfortable is good.”

Timeline Still Uncertain

McGregor has previously targeted a return in April 2027, but that timeline will depend on the final diagnosis.

A meniscus injury could allow for a faster recovery, while a torn ACL would likely require a significantly longer rehabilitation process before he can step back into the Octagon.
