Aleksandar Rakic Ends Five-Year Winless Run in Heavyweight Debut

Aleksandar Rakic finally returned to the win column, defeating Marcin Tybura by unanimous decision in his heavyweight debut at UFC Fight Night 283.

Rakic earned a clean sweep on the scorecards, winning 30-27 from all three judges at Belgrade Arena.

The Serbian fighter came out with high-volume striking and consistently targeted Tybura’s legs and head.

Tybura had success working from close range, but Rakic remained composed and avoided major danger as the fight progressed.

The victory snapped Rakic’s four-fight losing streak and gave him his first win since March 2021.

Tybura, meanwhile, suffered his third consecutive defeat.

Rakic Relieved After Long Road Back

Rakic, 34, credited the home crowd for helping him through a difficult period in his career.

“Everybody needs to feel this happiness once in their lives, but not many of them can feel it.” 

“I am so happy. Thank God.”

“I’ve had a hard time coming from four losses and fighting for my job here.” 

“With this crowd, I knew that I cannot lose.”
