Jean Silva and Yair Rodriguez will headline Noche UFC on Sept. 12 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The featherweight contenders will meet in a five-round main event on the Paramount+ card, with both fighters looking to move closer to title contention.
Silva Looks to Build Momentum
Silva, 29, enters the matchup after a decision victory over Arnold Allen at UFC 324 in January. The win put him back on track after a knockout loss to Diego Lopes. Silva is now 6-1 in the UFC and has established himself as one of the division’s most dangerous contenders. A win over Rodriguez could put Silva firmly in the title picture heading into 2027.
Rodriguez Returns After Long Layoff
Rodriguez, 33, has not fought since April 2025, when he defeated former Bellator champion Patricio Pitbull by decision at UFC 314. The former interim UFC featherweight champion will return against one of the division’s fastest-rising contenders.
A victory over Silva would put Rodriguez back near the top of the rankings and potentially within reach of another title opportunity.
