Former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad has broken his silence following a lopsided loss to Gabriel Bonfim in the UFC Vegas 118 main event on Saturday night.
Hours after the defeat, Muhammad shared a message on social media, remaining upbeat despite suffering the longest losing streak of his professional career.
“Alhamdulillah for everything,”
“Too blessed to be stressed. You don’t find out who you are when everything goes your way. You find out when it doesn’t.”
“Grateful for the journey, grateful for the lessons. I’ll be back.”
The loss dropped Muhammad to 24-6 and marked his third straight defeat after previous setbacks against Ian Machado Garry and Jack Della Maddalena.
Muhammad Set for Ben Askren Matchup
While his UFC future remains uncertain, Muhammad already has his next competition booked. He is scheduled to face Ben Askren at Real American Freestyle 11 on July 18.
