Iwo Baraniewski stayed unbeaten and extended his UFC winning streak to three with a dominant first-round TKO victory over Junior Tafa at UFC Vegas 118 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Originally scheduled to face Billy Elekana, Baraniewski instead took on Tafa after a late opponent change. The Polish prospect remained patient early, just as he said he would, targeting Tafa’s lead leg with powerful kicks from range.
One perfectly placed leg kick folded Tafa to the canvas midway through the opening round. Baraniewski quickly followed up with ground-and-pound, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
The win marks another impressive finish for the rising light heavyweight contender, who continues to build momentum in the UFC.
In his post-fight interview, he is looking forward to facing top ranks in the division.
βI think the next will be good if I will fight somebody from Top 15.β
