Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt has no plans to retire despite suffering a first-round knockout loss to Adrian Yanez at UFC 329 in Las Vegas.

Days after the defeat, Garbrandt shared a message on Instagram that hinted at his determination to continue competing.

“THERE ARE MOMENTS IN LIFE WHEN HOPE FADES, AND THE WEIGHT OF ENDLESS PROBLEMS MAKES THE PATH UNCLEAR,”

“YOU ONLY LOSE WHEN YOU CHOOSE TO GIVE UP.”

The 35-year-old also urged people to use adversity as motivation, ending his message with a call to “KEEP FIGHTING.”

“LET YOUR STRUGGLES BE YOUR FUEL, NOT YOUR DOWNFALL. DON’T LET THE STORM BREAK YOU; LET IT STRENGTHEN YOUR WILL TO RISE AND KEEP FIGHTING.”

Garbrandt removed his gloves after the loss, sparking retirement speculation, but never left them in the cage. His latest statement suggests he intends to continue his MMA career.
