Arman Tsarukyan is performing well on multiple stages. The lightweight contender made headlines again after another dominant outing at RAF 9 in Dallas, where he secured a one-sided tech fall win over Mugzy. But his attention remains on the UFC lightweight title.
Tsarukyan Teases Championship Fight in September
During UFC 328 fight week, Tsarukyan appeared in a vlog on his YouTube channel and discussed what could be next.
He spoke with Mike Hermalyn, president, VIP of Fanatics, and shared that a title opportunity is already lined up.
“My next fight is the title fight, which is probably September.”
Despite the confidence in his schedule, Tsarukyan noted that the final details are still unresolved.
The opponent has not been officially confirmed, but he believes the championship path is set. He also said that he will proceed to know the outcome of UFC White House before confirming such a schedule.
White House Backup Role Keeps Tsarukyan in Play
Alongside the title chatter, Tsarukyan explained that he is positioned as the backup fighter for the Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje headliner.
“But I’m a backup for the White House, too.”
Interestingly, Tsarukyan will not weigh in for the event, but remains on standby in case of an emergency withdrawal.
RAF Schedule Adds Another Layer
Tsarukyan’s calendar is already crowded outside the UFC spotlight. He is booked to compete at RAF 10 against former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson. And after that, he is already booked to face Colby Covington at RAF 11.
